IN WITH THE NEW!

Posted in News on March 18, 2013 by tellingoftales

Right! This marks the start of something new. I’ve got new equipment and a new drive and more time on my hands and am currently looking actively for new stories to tell. I will start back up fairly soon, reading some of my own stuff, some public-domain classic shorts as well as rebooting Eye of Argon.

If you have anything for me to read, anything at all that is still a short story or something that’s possible to break into episodes, don’t hesitate to contact me!

I have been working as an actor for three years now, on stage and on film. You can see my professional website here where there’s a gallery, some videos and other things.

Another Reboot

I have been busily working the last year, performing in various children’s shows at Butlins in Minehead, UK. Finally, I am at a point where I feel like I have the drive and energy to try rebooting Telling of Tales again.

This time, I intend to seek out good pieces of flash fiction (and longer online-released tales) and straight-out ask the writers if they would be happy for me to turn them into “audiobooks” for Telling of Tales. I’m already finding some really good candidates.

To that end, if you have any favourite pieces you’ve read online or if you have written something you’d like me to read, let me know in the comments or through my Contribution page.

Hope to see you again soon with some actual content!

Rebooting Telling of Tales

Posted in News with tags , , , , , on April 10, 2010 by tellingoftales

After careful deliberation, I have decided on a format for the next season of ToT. This is how it’s going to go down:

Theme of the season: Atrocity
Early Bird Deadline: May 15th
Latest Deadline: June 15th
Word limit: 500-800 words*

So! If you don’t know what Telling of Tales is, it is now basically a flash fiction workshop in which you get a chance to have your story read aloud by a voice actor (currently just me). It’s a way to find a new audience and to find other writers as well, but most of all it’s great fun! Follow this link to get more information on submitting.

So there ya have it! Tell your friends and fellow writers.
I’m looking forward to seeing your submissions!

* If you have a story that’s amazingly good but needs more space to work, you can submit it as a two-parter. If you do this, please make sure it’s suitable for a multi-episode format and not just chopped in half. Also, if response turns out a lot better than expected, multi-episode stories will sadly be the first to go… Unless they’re absolutely amazing. The likelihood of response being huge is not that high, though.

Taking Submissions

All right, folks! This is it!
But not the Michael Jackson kind, where I SAY it’s it and then I die and the world mourns my death.

What I mean is that this summer, between my third and fourth year as a student, I will be recording a “season” of Telling of Tales. I will do my best to record everything I need during that time to be released weekly as done previously.

To do that, I’ll need you to send me your stories. The rules are the same, so have a look at the submissions page. If you want to write something completely new, but don’t have the inspiration, you could always open a dictionary randomly or visit this random word generator to help you get started.

Come May, I’ll choose the 48 (or so) stories I would most like to read (not necessarily the straight-out best, as I want them to be fun to read and listen to as well) and spend the summer recording them.

So tell your friends and internet stalkers!
This is going down. Or on. Or up. Something.

A tiny vacation

Terribly sorry, but I’m just restarting university and need time to adjust and get my bearings. Will be back next week or the week after with more stories! In the meantime, keep sending in submissions!
